DRIVING

From Los Angeles
Driving from Southern California can be done in 5-6 hours.  We highly recommended an early start time to avoid as much traffic as possible.  Take the 5 north, to Highway 14 north, to Highway 395 north. Exit on Highway 203 for Mammoth Lakes.

From San Diego / Orange County
Driving from the San Diego area will take approximately 6-7 hours and from the Orange County area will take approximately 6 hours. From San Diego, you can take the 15 north, to Highway 395 north. Exit on Highway 203 for Mammoth Lakes. From Orange County, you can take the 15 to the 395 OR the 5 to the 14. Sometimes one route is quicker than the other (check Google Maps or Waze).

From Reno / Lake Tahoe
Driving from the Reno/Tahoe area will take approximately 3 hours. Take Highway 395 south. Exit on Highway 203 for Mammoth Lakes.

From Northern California / Bay Area
Driving from the San Francisco / Sacramento areas will take approximately 5-7 hours.  During the summer, those arriving via this route will enjoy the best scenery of all routes to Mammoth.  Depending on how far north you live, there are many options to travel over the Sierras. Try the Sonora Pass (Highway 108), which is highly recommended. You can also use Tioga Pass (Highway 120) and enter through the spectacular Yosemite National Park. Please be aware that you will have to pay a park fee to use this road. However, it is a worthwhile investment for the amazing views!

Thankfully it's also 2018 and we have some amazing technology right at our fingertips — we highly recommend using Waze or Google Maps, so that you don't get lost on your journey and you avoid any traffic.
